Q: Can I be guaranteed an oceanfront view?

A: Yes! Every room at Tides Hotel on Folly Beach has a magnificent view of the Atlantic Ocean.

Q: What is the difference between your Oceanfront Rooms and your Beachfront Rooms?

A: Our Beachfront Rooms are located on the 1st floor and feature semi-private patios with patio furniture. You can access the pool from you patio area and from the pool you can access Roasted, our coffeehouse Proudly Serving Starbucks® Coffees, Teas, Grab and Go snacks and sundries, BLU’s Beach Bar and beach. These rooms offer very convenient access to Center Street on one side and eye-level beachfront view on the other. Our Oceanfront Rooms are located on the 2nd-9th floors and feature private Juliette balconies. By Juliette balcony, we mean they are large enough to walk out onto and get a GREAT bird's eye view of the ocean but they're not large enough for patio furniture.


Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: Reservations must be cancelled by 4pm, 3 days (72 hours) prior to your scheduled arrival date to avoid penalty of 1 night room and tax. Reservations must be guaranteed with a valid credit card at the time of booking.


Q: Is Tides Folly Beach pet friendly?

A: Yes, we are pet friendly. We do require a pet fee of $85 per stay. Whether you choose to stay with us one night or ten nights, the pet fee is a flat $85.


Q: Do you have a restaurant on site and, does it provide room service?

A: We have a phenomenal restaurant on site call Blu. Blu is a Platinum partner with the South Carolina Sustainable Seafood Initiative where Chef Jon Cropf delivers local favorites and seasonal seafood specialities that are as fresh as the ambiance. We provide room service for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Indoor and outdoor seating is available at the restaurant. BLU also features an outdoor beach bar with live music each Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the summer.


Q: What time may I check in? Check out? Early check in? Late check out?

A: Check in begins at 4:00pm. Check out is required no later than 11:00am. We will make every effort to fulfill requests for early check in or late checkout though neither is guaranteed.


Q: Is there a fee for parking?

A: Parking is included in your room rate. One parking pass is issued per room.


Q: Do you have a pool on-site? Is it indoor/outdoor? Is it heated?

A: Guests of Tides Folly Beach may take advantage of our outdoor beachfront pool. During the cooler months, the pool is heated. The pool is open daily from 7am-10pm.


Q: Where is Folly Beach in relation to downtown Charleston?

A: Folly Beach is located approximately 9 short miles south of downtown Charleston. Approximate driving time form one to the other is 15-20 minutes.


Q: What is there to do on Folly Beach?

A: Tides Folly Beach offers a wide variety of activities. We work closely with several preferred vendors to provide our guests with the opportunity to charter fishing boats, kayak, paddleboard, rent scooters, rent jet skis and beach chairs, get massages and so much more (fees apply). The island of Folly Beach offers an eclectic assortment of dining options, surf shops, activities and galleries.


Q: Do you offer transportation to and from the airport?

A: Unfortunately we do not offer a shuttle service at Tides Folly Beach. There are several limo and cab companies we can recommend.


Q: Do you offer on-site laundry facilities?

A: There is a public Laundromat a couple of short blocks down the street from Tides Folly Beach to which we refer our guests but we do not offer these facilities on site.


Q: What is your minimum check-in age?

A: 21 years of age.


Q: Why is it better to use a credit card rather than a debit card when checking into a hotel?

A: With a debit card, banks do not recognize the difference between an authorization and an actual charge and remove all of the funds requested. A credit card will authorize an amount and make sure it is available without actually locking up those funds. The amount of time the authorization takes to be returned to the account depends entirely on the bank with which the account is registered. The return time can range from a few days to almost a month.
